樂聖貝多芬這首快樂頌傳唱百年，直至今日不知道被翻成多少版本，但你知道這首歌是他生命最後幾年所淬煉出來的顛峰之作，當他完成這首曲子的時後，近乎全聾，但他還堅持要自己上臺親自指揮整個交響樂團，來向世人發表這首歌。對於一個音樂家來說，失聰是多大的沮喪和痛苦，在完全聽不到音樂和掌聲的狀況下，他是詮釋出快樂頌呢？無非是他心裡所湧出的喜樂旋律，勝過他肉體上一切的軟弱，這不只是一首曠世鉅作，更是他活出信仰的真諦。接下來就讓我們按下撥放鍵，一起沉浸在喜樂之中吧！
快樂頌是由范戴克（Henry van Dyke）填詞，他是一位長老會的牧師，也是一名大學教授，也曾被威爾遜總統指派出任荷蘭及盧森堡大使。1907年范戴克應邀在威廉斯大學演講，當地的風景引起了他的遐思而寫了這首詩，並贈送給威廉斯大學的校長。並說必須要以貝多芬的第九交響曲最後的大合唱「歡樂頌」(Hymn of Joy)作為曲調。爾後這首聖詩由賀愛德（Edward Hodges）改編，並於1955發布，發布後隨即成為家喻戶曉的聖歌，人人皆能朗朗上口。並於不久前英國皇家阿爾伯特音樂廳曾演出該曲目的Live版，並由現場5500人一同合唱的精彩演出。
